Importance of skin in immunity

Langerhan cells are specialised cells that originate from bone marrow and provide important immunity for our body. When our skin is infected, the local langerhan cells will start the process of producing the immunity to the virus that has caused the infection. This si then kept in the body's memory bank, and if we're exposed to this bug again our body isa able to remove is much quicker. We are amazing machines!!
